Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Shipwatch Pointe 2BR Condo Steps to the Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
