Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your group agree to date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Serenity: 20th Floor 3 Bedroom Oceanfront Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
