Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Atlantica Towers
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
