Rental home booking tips:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. *SNOWBird*SPECIAL*Gorgeous Caribbean Ocean View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
