Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. B341 at the Myrtle Beach Resort: Soak in Spectacular Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
