Our top Rental booking tips:
Getting the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Choosing the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. A Place at the Beach III on the Ocean / Shore Drive - COMPLETELY RENOVATED has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
