Getting the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Southern View- All New! Modern & Stylish-Your Paradise Awaits! + Locker! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
