Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose the best vacation rental:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Stunning Double Queen Suite With LED Fireplace! Caravelle 610 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
