Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Bluewater Resort Unit 203 - Oceanfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.

- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:

- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
