Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Suite with Beautiful Ocean Front View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Know before you go:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
