Strategies for getting the best vacation property experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the right Myrtle Beach rental:

  • First, have your group choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Summer Cottage 9 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
