Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Sunny Getaway * 1BR condo close to the beach (C) has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
