Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation rental:
- Start by having your group commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. SUPERB OCEAN VIEWS FROM A LOVELY OCEAN FRONT CONDO has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
