How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family choose trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Supreme Oceanfront Studio\/ Dogs OK! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
