How to find the best vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best vacation rental:

  • To start, have your group choose date ranges and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. The Blue Crab - Outstanding Family Friendly Fun Resort direct Oceanfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
