How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your group agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. The Pelican Pad ** It's a year round ocean oasis! ** has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
