Rental booking tips:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beach house, ocean view has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
