Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing yourrental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. The perfect location for your vacation! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
