Tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Tranquil Retreat: 1 Bedroom King Suite 2nd Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
