Tips to get the optimal rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Perfect couples getaway, King Bed, Beautifully clean, with Breathtaking view! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
