Our top Vacation rental tips:

When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by having your group decide on a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Vacation in Style and Comfort - Minutes From Everything!\nA Golfer's Dream Stay has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
