Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the perfect rental:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Exquisite 3 Bd Rm Villa-19E WHP-Full Access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
