Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Views for miles Rare 1BR condo @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
