Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best rental:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Golf course condo with magnificent views close to baseball, softball, CCU, mall has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
