Vacation rental tips:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Waterview Retreat
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
