How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your family agree to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Beachfront Bliss in our OF 3 BR Condo 5th Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
