Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Beachy Gateway OF 3 BR Condo 16th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
More considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
