Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your family decide on date ranges and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. New High Floor, Direct Sea Watch, King Bed, Decor! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
