Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 10th-floor oceanfront studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
