Vacation rental tips:
Finding the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and choose the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 2 Screen Porches 2 Primary Suites (By Beach Star) has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If not, contact the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
