Tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Cumberland Terrace 2B Kingston resort, Pools,Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
