Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose and book your prefectrental home:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 2BR\/2BA-Perfect Ocean View! Fantastic Kitchen & Baths! Huge Balcony! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
