Vacation rental tips:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Premier-2BR/2BA-Southern View-High End Remodel-Lavish Kitchen & Baths + Locker! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
