Strategies to get the optimal rental home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectvacation home:
- First, have your group select dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Premier-2BR/2BA-Southern View-High End Remodel-Lavish Kitchen & Baths + Locker! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a great stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
