Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental home:

- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
