Finding the best vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental home:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes Lazy Lobster Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
