Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing your Myrtle Beach rental:

  • First, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 2nd-floor oceanfront studio with pool, lazy river & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your trip.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
