Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to select the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. COZY CONDO WITH BEAUTIFUL OCEAN VIEWS... JUST STEPS FROM THE SAND! PREMIER HOST! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
