How to get the best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 3br Deluxe Condo Family Fun on Myrtle Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
