How to find the best vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • To get the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. *SNOWBird* Special* 3 Bdr/1 King Suite, 2 Queen has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.

During your stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
