Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Cozy Coastal Retreat • Ocean Views + Roomy Condo • Walk to the Beach in Minutes! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
