Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 4BR\/3BA in Ocean Lakes Campground, Myrtle Beach SC has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
