Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 5th Floor Beachfront Getaway in Two Bedroom Bliss has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
