Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your family choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 8th Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Studio w/ AC, WiFi, Shared Pool/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before booking your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
