Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
How to choose and book yourvacation home:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean Reef Resort with POOLS, HOT TUBS, WATER PARK in Myrte Beach, SC 9th floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
