Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding the best value:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and picking the perfectrental home:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean Reef Resort with POOLS, HOT TUBS, WATER PARK in Myrte Beach, SC 9th floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
