How to book the best rental experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean Reef Resort with POOLS, HOT TUBS, WATER PARK in Myrte Beach, SC 9th floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
