Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking the perfectrental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Accessible Comfort with Ocean Views 3rd Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
