Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First, have your family commit to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. New - Ocean Forest Plaza Condo - 5th Floor, Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
