Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectrental home:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Seaside Serenity~ Oceanview Suite! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
