Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick the bestvacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Amazing Views - Ocean Front 3BR Condo! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
