Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing yourrental home:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Myrtle Beach Resort Unit B129 - Ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
